If you are looking for delicious biscuits and are visiting and are on a budget this place is great!! And the 1 star reviewer obviously didn’t read the menu because it clearly shows how to order the chili the way you would like it.

Everything i was hoping for and more. What a wonderful dive place for breakfast. Excellent biscuits. Flavorful and flaky. My medium eggs cooked perfectly served with hashbrowns and salty crisp bacon. Wife, had the breakfast bowl. Sausage, hashbrowns, biscuit, and Eggs in a bowl covered with gravy. Outstanding. Saw a thing that said they were famous for chili. So we ordered chili cheese fries too. Breakfast of champions, right? Chili was good, but I probably wouldn't order it again. I'd get more biscuits and gravy!

Friendly staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. I had the breakfast combo and my son got a breakfast wrap. Food was served quickly and all items were delicious. I did add a little salt and pepper to my food as per my taste preferences. Overall a great experience.

Not only did I stop by this spot once on my visit from Oklahoma. I came back a second time. That should tell you something. This place is the oldest restaurant in Tennessee, open since 1907 and was run by the same family over a century later. It's not trying to be trendy or flashy, it's just simple, affordable, comfort food done right. The staff was genuinely friendly both times I came in, like the kind of folks who seem happy to be there and happy you're there too. The food? Good ol' down-home cooking that warms you up from the inside out like your grandma made it, if your grandma had a restaurant and didn't care about plating but cared deeply about your full belly. It's a true hole-in-the-wall gem. If you want fancy plating and overpriced bites, look elsewhere. If you want a solid meal that feels like home, this is your spot. Oh, and ask the owner to juggle for the kids, mine thought it was the best part of the meal!

Historical !!!!!!!! Breakfast standards at unbeatable price. But what makes this a must visit is history. This is: 1. Oldest restaurant in Nashville. 2. Oldest restaurant in Tennessee 3. 14th Oldest restaurant in the United States.

I stumbled upon Varallo's when I saw it from my hotel window. I researched it and read that they were known for the best chili in Nashville. I highly recommend getting the classic chili with onions and cheese. It was amazing! if the manager/owner is not busy ask him for the history story. It is a must try!

Cutest little place EVER! A must visit pit stop when in Nashville. Downtown with super affordable prices! 3 of us ate breakfast for 20. Bob was awesome and told us a bit about the history of the place. Home made food choices right down town. Next time we will def try the chili and the pancakes!! Oldest restaurant in TN. Top 15 in oldest in the world. Loved it! Warning: Do be careful though! Both of our cars got a 94 ticket on it for sitting for 20 mins bc there wasn’t a sign near by! We got out of it, but still if it wasn’t for manager being there we would’ve probably been stuck paying for it even if there’s no signs out. Last two pics was where we were parked and (almost) got tickets.
